Eco Ardence Ember in Shah Alam represents a new benchmark for sustainable, multi-generational living in Malaysia. ONG&ONG Malaysia was engaged for this project, and they successfully merged resort-style luxury with community-focused design. Drawing on a deep understanding of Malaysian urban design and climate-responsive architecture, the team guided the development from start to finish.
The brief required creating a harmonious environment specifically tailored for multi-generational families while incorporating EcoWorld's signature design DNA. These include extensive landscaping, Olympic-sized swimming pools, and distinctive entrance statements.
The township offers diverse housing options, from intimate co-homes to expansive cluster semi-D units, interconnected by dedicated cycling tracks and shaded linear parks. Thoughtful biophilic design features including Zen meditation gardens, native landscapes, a curated campsite, and gazebos promote sustainable living while creating vibrant spaces for recreation and community connection. Additional lifestyle facilities further enhance residents' quality of life amidst nature.
The project faced substantial challenges due to material price volatility. As such, the team implemented strategic cost-management solutions, including material substitutions and optimised spatial configurations, to maintain the development's premium aesthetic within revised budgets. The phased construction approach across the 32-acre site was carefully planned to minimise disruption for residents in adjacent housing precincts, while still adhering to project timelines.
Ember stands as a benchmark for inclusive, future-focused development. The township successfully combines resort-style amenities with practical family living spaces. Particular attention was paid to community-building features, including centralised parks and pedestrian-friendly circulation routes that encourage social interaction. This development exemplifies ONG&ONG's commitment to creating spaces that enhance wellbeing through thoughtful design, demonstrating how architectural innovation can deliver both luxury and sustainability.
