The refreshed public areas of Wyndham Singapore, formerly known as the Peninsula Excelsior Singapore, bring a renewed sense of warmth and contemporary character to the hotel’s guest experience. The transformation spans the hotel’s public levels and includes an upgraded arrival experience, refreshed social zones and enhanced dining environments as part of a broader refurbishment.
Guiding the redesign was an early narrative shaped around the “Mr Coleman” persona, which imagined the hotel as a welcoming residence with a warm, lived-in quality. While the narrative is simplified, its spirit continues to inform the relaxed and personable tone of the interiors. Warm materials, residential-style seating and soft touches of colour bring a sense of ease without veering into themed décor.
The hotel is organised across two towers — North and South — which connect via the shared lobby floor on Level 5. ONG&ONG’s interior design approach refines these ideas into a cohesive hospitality environment. Guests first encounter the renewed arrival sequence through the Ground Floor Lobby, which leads to the Level 5 Reception Lobby.
This main reception lobby serves as a central hub, directly connected to the outdoor swimming pool, allowing indoor public spaces and external leisure areas to flow seamlessly into one another. Curved forms, dark timber and gold-toned accents establish a polished yet approachable welcome. Further inside, The Study introduces a more casual atmosphere, retaining the early concept’s emphasis on softer textures and relaxed social interaction. This key level links the arrival sequence with amenities such as The Study in the North Tower, the Sky Lounge in the South Tower, and the outdoor pool deck.
Positioned beside the lobby, Bentley’s Bar presents the project’s most defined design expression. Drawing from Singapore’s architectural heritage while embracing a bold contemporary character, the interior balances classic panelled forms with softened tones to create a warm and quietly sophisticated setting that aligns with modern hospitality expectations.
The all-day dining restaurant, Jaspé, continues this sense of comfort with a daylight-led layout, intuitive circulation and a neutral palette that supports varied dining settings. Outdoors, The Falls Pool has been refreshed with new floor finishes and lighting to create a more inviting atmosphere, complemented by a redesigned Pool Bar that visually links indoor and outdoor zones.
As part of the wider refurbishment, ONG&ONG also refreshed selected guest rooms, extending the renewed design language into the private realm. The Superior King, Superior Twin, Deluxe King and Premier King rooms were re-envisioned with lighter tones, soft textiles and warm timber accents to create calm, contemporary spaces that complement the upgraded public areas.
Across all areas, ONG&ONG’s design team focused on consistency, functionality and an elevated guest journey. The completed spaces strike a balance between polished hospitality standards and the relaxed, familiar character introduced through the project’s early design vision.
