Nestled in the heart of Singapore’s Novena medical hub, Weave Suites Novena at 12 Shan Road offers a refined sanctuary for both long-stay residents and medical travellers. Completed in 2026, the project transformed an existing single-block, 15-storey building into a premium serviced apartment residence that embodies Weave Living’s signature blend of comfort, functionality, and contemporary design.

ONG&ONG was appointed to deliver the architectural Alterations & Additions (A&A) works, with a focused scope on the common areas. Working closely with the client’s established brand philosophy, the team introduced thoughtful interventions that enhance the overall guest experience while maintaining strong design consistency across Weave’s portfolio.

The redesign begins at the arrival experience. A new façade entrance and enclosed lobby create an elevated sense of welcome, featuring a distinctive woven-texture reception counter with refined wood panelling and generous glazing. Adjacent lift lobbies were reimagined with comfortable seating, warm lighting, and a striking palm mural that sets a relaxed, resort-like tone from the moment guests step inside.

On Level 2, the team optimised unused gross floor area from the basement, primarily to create a well-equipped gym. Additional communal facilities include an indoor lounge with rattan and upholstered seating, a colourful children’s playground, and a reinstated pool deck featuring a serene lap pool surrounded by lush tropical landscaping and daybeds. The spacious outdoor lounge area further enhances the resident experience with beautiful city views and opportunities for socialising.

Throughout the common areas, rich wood finishes, textured surfaces, and natural materials contribute to a warm, sophisticated atmosphere. This extends to the lift lobbies, corridors, gym and mail room. In addition, 20 of the 99 units were carefully adapted as Medical Care Units to better support accessibility and comfort. These units incorporate features such as sliding bathroom doors, grab bars, anti-slip surfaces, and antiviral wallcoverings.

The project also involved resolving several practical issues, including the reconfiguration of internal vehicle circulation and the activation of a rear pedestrian pathway for convenient access to the neighbouring Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

ONG&ONG has helped elevate Weave Suites Novena into a modern, welcoming, and highly functional residence within one of Singapore’s most established medical precincts.
