The Marina Centre Bus Terminal was designed as a solution to the bus parking issues along the area. It serves as a starting and terminating point for all bus services serving the Marina Centre Region, and help relocate the busses previously parked on the roadside into the permanent facility, thus alleviating the traffic and safety issues along Raffles Boulevard.

The bus terminal was designed to blend with its surroundings. This is reflected in the porous and vibrant interior, designed to optimise cross ventilation, and allow in generous amounts of natural light. The façade takes direct inspiration from the existing trees below Benjamin Sheares Bridge and the shadows they create. A brown screening at the top of the building creates a radiant texture, while the bottom of the building was given multiple shades of green.

Within the terminal building, the staff offices, staff toilets, staff canteen and other ancillary rooms were cleverly designed without crossing the 14 m wide internal driveway.
