Maria began her career at EHM Architectural Atelier. Relocating to Singapore 2001, Maria joined ONG&ONG where she worked on a number of projects across a variety of typologies and scales, including the conceptualization and design of Nicoll Highway MRT Station. She has also been involved in regional projects, particularly with residential projects in Indonesia.

Together with Diego Molina, Maria established a studio specializing exclusively on private residential projects. The studio strives to elevate contemporary tropical design through a unique approach that blends principles of Latin American architecture - developing a distinctive style that has consistently produced award-winning and iconic designs.
