Organised by the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore, this competition called for the design of a linkway bridge between Alexandra Road and Telok Blangah Hill. The URA plans to build an iconic landmark to link these two areas that are hitherto unconnected.
The geometry of our design solution brings people to the best vantage locations across Alexandra Road and the valley below. The main thrust of the project is to create an artificial terrain in mid-air spanning the valley.
The terrain is sub-divided into three parts, each with its unique texture, gradient and width intended to provide different vistas and activities.
The grounded walkway serves as the connecting path to the existing nature reserve park of Telok Blangah Hill as well as to provide the main infrastructure to trigger future programmes. Sensitivity is further emphasized with respect to the flora and fauna and the insertion of structure sways to avoid the falling of trees. back |
