92-102 Joo Chiat Place

As a conservation district of sorts, the Joo Chiat area is renowned for unique and diversified architecture. Of six units marked for conservation, two were overhauled to better demonstrate the versatility of each two-and-a-half storey space.

To comply with URA's regulations, the exterior façades remain untouched. In contrast, the interiors were contemporarily designed, with dramatic staircases serving as each unit's focal point. Dark, wooden slabs form the sleek staircases of one unit, with glass panels lining the railings. The other has a modern-looking spiral staircase which travels all the way up to the attic, giving a touch of mystery.

Clean, subtle tones are evident in both designs, with the extensive use of white walls and wood flooring. This simple yet adaptable look provides a plain canvas for each future buyer to customise to their liking.
